On 15 May 2015, a meeting between the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM) was held in Beijing. During the meeting, BMWi and MOFCOM discussed the arrangement of a study visit to Germany and EU in June, which is the first study tour of its kind since both sides agreed to cooperate in the field of market surveillance. MOFCOM expressed its gratitude for BMWi’s preparation of the visit, and confidence that it will benefit China’s ongoing e-commerce legislation.
BMWi and MOFCOM also exchanged opinions on China’s Domestic Trade Law of which a draft for soliciting opinions had been released at the end of March 2015. BMWi highly appreciates MOFCOM’s openness and efforts to facilitate a free market in China.
