The second expert workshop on conformity assessment in the toy industry was held in Beijing on 3 December 2014 hosted by the Chinese Certification and Accreditiona Administration (CNCA) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). It followed up on the discussions made during the first workshop, which took place in Berlin on 20 June 2014, and decided about concrete work packages to be implemented in the year 2015.
From 25 October to 1 November 2014, a Study Tour on Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) took place in Germany. A delegation comprised of representatives of Chinese testing and certification authorities met with representatives of German authorities and testing institutes and visited GLP testing facilities to observe German GLP-inspections and to further promote the bilateral exchange on GLP.
On 5 and 6 November 2014, a Technical Exchange and Training Seminar on Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), co-hosted by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the P.R. China (CNCA) and the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), took place in Guizhou, China. Representatives from Chinese testing authorities and international experts gave presentations and discussed topics such as study audits, auditing procedures, and the role of regulatory authorities in relation to GLP. Participants also engaged in a case study on study audits.
Third Expert Workshop on Potentials for Mutual Recognition of Test Reports and Harmonization of Conformity Assessment Procedures between Germany and China
On 14 October 2014, the Third Expert Workshop on Potentials for Mutual Recognition of Test Reports and Harmonization of Conformity Assessment Procedures between Germany and China took place in Shanghai. Representatives from Chinese certification and accreditation authorities as well as German testing institutes and industry associations met to share the progress since the last workshop and discussed new proposals regarding further steps in the project line.
On 13 October 2014, the first Sino-German Expert Workshop on Certification of Surge Protection Devices (SPD) took place in Shanghai. Representatives from German and Chinese certification authorities, testing bodies, manufacturers as well as industry associations came together to discuss the potential for mutual recognition of test reports of SPDs.
At a seminar on the Certification of Energy Management Systems representatives from the BMWi, the CNCA, as well as German and Chinese testing and certification institutes discussed different regulations between Germany and China regarding certification of energy management systems and the requirements for the design, certification and surveillance of energy management systems.
On 20 June 2014, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA), German Association of the Toy Industry (DVSI) and representatives of German toy companies and testing and certification institutions met in Berlin at the invitation of BMWi and the Sino-German Quality Infrastructure Project to attend a planning workshop for the project´s core topics.
Within the framework of the Sino-German Working Group on Product Safety a Workshop on the GS scheme (“Safety tested”) took place in Beijing. Participants from certification and testing bodies as well as industry discussed about the German voluntary certification scheme and about cooperation potentials between Germany and China.
On 30 January 2014, the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (ZVEI) hosted an expert workshop in Frankfurt to further the dialogue with the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) on certification of surge protection devices (SPDs).
From Tuesday, 13 August to Friday, 16 August 2013, the project line on Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) for chemical substances has started with trainings and laboratory visits in Shanghai and Ningbo. The objective of the project, established by the Sino-German Working Group on Product Safety, is to enhance the Sino-German Technical Exchange on GLP-certification and to improve the management of relevant testing facilities.
